The Department of Electronic Engineering was founded in 2003, and its graduate program was established in 2007. The department specializes in three areas:
1. Communication and signal processing: Research and teaching are focused on digital signal processing, digital image processing, communication system engineering, digital communication system, and app programming design.
2. IC design: Research and teaching are focused on FPGA system design, analog IC design and simulation, advanced Analog IC layout design and laboratory design, radio frequency integrated circuit simulation and design, and IC packaging applications.
3. Development of new materials and green-energy technologies: Research and teaching are focused on solid-state analysis, new energy technologies, semiconductor physics and devices, recyclable thin-film technologies, fuel cells and semiconductor assembly engineering.
