History
The Department was founded in 2004 and affiliated to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The courses are designed to meet the high demands of social service professionals in the rapidly changing world. With the spirit of helping vulnerable individual or groups, the Department prepares students to enhance social functioning and overall well-being.

Educational Objectives
To cultivate professionals to help vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families, groups and communities in the society.
To provide professional curricula with hands-on practices in real life situations.
To inculcate and reinforce professional values and ethics in students who will need to retain large amounts of energy and know-how to fulfil the challenging social work in the future.
School System
2-year and 4-year Bachelor programs are offered.

Faculty Members
The Department employs teaching specialists with Ph.D. degrees or Master degrees. Their expertise includes Social Work, Social Welfare, Sociology and related subjects.

Facilities and Equipment
The facilities include the social survey center, the case study room, the group study room, and the computer classrooms.

Curricula
The curricula contain Foundation of Social Work, Social Work in the Family, Social Work in Medicine and Health, Social Work with Indigenous People and Minority Groups, and Social Welfare.

Career Options
Graduates can expect to work in a wide variety of occupations. These include profit and non-profit organizations. If the students would like to continue their studies, they could apply the graduate school at domestic or overseas institutions.
