=== International Honors Program ===
International Honors Program (IHP) was established in 2005 and has since grown quickly into a highly competitive institution committed to academic excellence and globalization. All the IHP faculties are highly qualified, with some educated in US, Japan, and UK. Students of IHP come from all over the world, including US, Australia, Canada, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea,…etc. As a student of IHP, you will enjoy unsurpassed academic learning opportunities, rich cultural experiences, and broad global perspectives. All the courses are taught in English. Courses taught in Chinese are also provided under the request of students. Students are encouraged to take double majors or a minor in other fields. The tuition/fees are waived for all the first-year IHP students. After the first year of study, various scholarships to outstanding IHP students are available. Please note that scholarships do not include textbook fees, health insurances, and housing utilities.
===Chinese language program===
Course hours: 150 hours in one period
Course fee: $26000 NTD
Registration fee: $500 NTD
Class time: from Monday to Friday, 9AM to 12AM or 1PM to 4PM, each day three hours
===Japanese exchange program ===
Kainan University is partnered with over 40 universities in Japan. KNU rank number one among Taiwan's universities in the total number of partner institutions in Japan. Approximately 100 students participate in exchange programs between Kainan and partner institutions each year. Kainan and our partner institutions also host short-term programs for students to learn local language, English and experience local cultures.
===San Diego State University internship program ===
Under the San Diego State University's (SDSU) Internship Program, SDSU cooperates with five-star hotels and resorts such as Vail Resorts, Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott Hotels. SDSU is also known for asking professionals from CEO to line manager to speak and even teach. SDSU's focus is to mix academics with real-world application and social research with an eye to providing future jobs. They also aim to develop interpersonal communication and want students to follow their passion for hospitality.
===2 + 2 dual degree ===
***KNU and University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UW-RF) dual degree program***
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls was founded in 1874 as the fourth State Normal School in Wisconsin and the first in the northwestern part of the state. Its first building was dedicated on Sept. 2, 1875. KNU has established the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), the dual degree programs with University of Wisconsin, River Ralls, to administer overseas academic cooperation, improve and reinforce exchange studies from overseas university.
***KNU and University of Toyama dual degree program ***
The University of Toyama was founded in 1949 and located in Toyama City of Toyama Prefecture, the center of Japan. It is surrounded by the Tateyama mountain range and the Sea of Japan. The University of Toyama is a university comprising three former national universities; Toyama University, Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University and Takaoka National College were integrated in 2005. This integrated university houses eight faculties, six graduate schools, the University Laboratory, Hospital, and Library, and 12 institutes such as the Center for International Education and Research. There are approximately 9,253 students (including 8,163 undergraduate and 1,091 graduate students) studying at the university.
