Introduction
The department of Banking and Finance of NCYU was established in August 2008. Recently, the overall environment of the financial industry has been changing greatly. Accordingly, our educational goal focuses on enhancing students’ financial knowledge for meeting the industrial requirement. The main courses are divided into three fields: “securities investment”, “corporate finance” and “financial markets and institutions”. In line with the current development trend on “FinTech”, this department particularly highlights the link between the three course fields and the professional training in financial information. Compared to other Taiwanese universities, our department at least has the following distinct features. First, all the full-time teachers own the finance-related Ph.D. degree from the well-known domestic and foreign universities. Especially, the faculty term contains the professional accountants, insurance actuaries, and foreign teaching qualifications. Next, this department has well-equipped financial labs and related financial software which can support the financial computation and financial information courses. Moreover, this department strongly recommends students to own financial related certificates (such as CFP, CFA and FRM) for improving their professional skills. Finally, this department always provides friendly guidance for the students about their advanced studies and future jobs.
