Objectives
This department’s graduates have a strong knowledge of plant protection about infection or infestation of plant disease, weed, insect and other pests.
In addition to promoting the basic professional status of its students, our department seeks to imbue them with strong practical training, especially indiagnosis of plant diseases and insect pests, quarantine inspection, and integrated pest management.
Curriculum
Besides the fundamental courses, the major courses offered in the department are Mycology, Bacteriology, Plant Virology, Plant Nematology, Plant Pathology, Insect Ecology, Economic Entomology, Insect Morphology, Diagnosis and Management of Plant Diseases., Identification and Management of Insect Pests, Weed Control, Research Techniques in Plant Pathology and Entomology, Pesticides, Integrated Pest Management, Biotechnology, Tropical Plant Diseases and Insect Pests.
