The department’s curriculum integrates essential domain knowledge of mechatronics, engineering sciences, and biological applications with the aims for human well-being and sustainable development. Our graduate education centers on advanced bioengineering studies featuring mechatronics and artificial intelligence. Graduate students choose research topics to tackle agricultural, biomedical, robotic, and/or energy-related problems under professor’s supervision. They deeply learn core and elective courses in the professional field of mechanical system, mechatronic control, artificial intelligence, or biological process according to their thesis or dissertation topics. Meanwhile, our graduate students acquire the capability of mastering expertise, interdisciplinary collaboration, industry-academy crossover, and independent problem-solving through participating in research projects, international symposiums and paper publication. Moreover, students will be empowered with the competency of leading, planning, managing, and treasuring professional ethics and social responsibility in addition to industrial mindset, global perspectives and lifelong learning. In summary, our vision is to incubate next-generation engineering leaders with interdisciplinary spirit, outstanding innovation and integration ability, and professional integrity through our unique biomechatronics engineering education.
