The Institute of Medical Devices and Medical Imaging, originated from the Center of Optoelectronic Medical Research, was established on August 1, 2004 at College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, with its mission to provide leadership and education to Taiwan's biomedical community in developing novel medical devices and medical imaging technology, which are the fundamental part of modern medical innovations. As one of most promoted emerging field in Taiwan, medical device and imaging technology is critical in improving our understanding of the state of health and disease, improving the efficacy and affordability of healthcare, and serving the ever-changing unmet need of Taiwan's population.
