The Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering is a comprehensive engineering department incorporating shipbuilding science, marine engineering, computer science, material science and ocean engineering and technology. Since Taiwan is an island, shipbuilding plays a leading role in driving the development of international trading, iron and steel, machinery, paint, welding and other related industries. Combined with ocean engineering and technology, future development can cover a wide range of marine-related technology and industries.
This department focuses on ship design and manufacturing, mechatronics integration analysis, automatic monitoring for ocean engineering and industry, marine energy development aided by maritime monitoring systems, software applications development and more. Many of our graduates become field and design engineers and naval architects.
