The department was established in 1997 as the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering. To align with the global trend of industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing, the department was renamed the Department of Mechatronics Engineering in 2019. The department has dedicated to the development of modern precision manufacturing engineering and intelligent industrial automation through the well-designed academic programs and the vibrant research activities. The department aims to educate a forward-looking engineer capable of contributing to the cutting-edge technologies of mechanical and mechatronics industrials.
