The department was first established in 1963, first offering a 5-year junior college program. After the development over these years, the department now offers Bachelor’s degree, Master degree and Ph.D. degree programs. With over 10,000 alumni in Taiwan and overseas, the department has earned a very good reputation in both the academia and the industry.
The department aims to offer the students with fundamental knowledge in civil engineering and also emphasizes on interdisciplinary research, such as collaborating with computer engineering, material science, remote sensing technology, project management, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. The students are trained to apply their knowledge to take on various challenges in the broad filed of civil engineering. Our goal is to educate and train the students to meet the current and future needs of the construction industry so that they can make contributions to the industry and the society.
