INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the restructuring of the industries nationwide, the Department of Visual Communication Design was first established in 1998, the first four-year program of its kind in southern Taiwan.
This program aims at cultivating design professionals in commercial graphic design, audio-visual multimedia animation design, cultural and creative product design, raster display, packaging design, etc.
The aims are to train advanced design professionals in practice and to further provide
educational opportunities for those who intend to be advanced professionals of visual
communication design in southern Taiwan.
This program features courses in “local cultures and creative industries, brand image and visual media, visual media and technology,” and forms “aesthetics and creativity.” With the curricula and implementation of our elite training program, students' expertise will be compatible with the future job market and also with the needs of visually and culturally innovative industries.

系所簡介
樹德科技大學視覺傳達設計系為因應科技與學術之發展，配合國內產業型態轉變之需求，而於民國87年設立本系，為南台灣第一所四年制視覺傳達設計系，並於100學年度成立碩士在職專班。本系所依照學校辦學理念，秉持「學術、知性、快樂、希望」的校訓，培養兼具人文與科技，組織領導與問題解決能力的專業人才，落實設計理念與實務之平衡發展，以培育具視覺傳達創意與企劃執行能力之高等設計人才為教育目標。同時，本系所亦融合設計學院「院訂特色指標」規劃本系所大學部發展九項系所目標，分屬三大方針、：
(一)增強人文素養與強化專業能力： 經營團諮活動、校園設計師檢核、教師赴產業實習。
(二)連結產業需求與增廣國際視野： 產學合作導入課程、學術交流國際見學、參加重要設計競賽。
(三)強化菁英學生與輔導弱勢學生： 實施菁英培育計畫、實施共同評圖、弱勢學生輔導。
因應國家發展「文化創意產業」及「數位內容產業」相關人才培育及創新研發之需求，以「知識經濟」、「創意經濟」、「文化經濟」及「美學經濟」的概念，將教學研究與服務之能量予以整合。
藉由課程的導入與菁英培訓計畫的實施，在「創意文化化」、「過程產業化」、「研發商品化」、「成果產業化」、「經營專業化」的原則下，執行研發工作。
因應產業需求，本系發展核心能力本位課程，將學生專業養成與未來就業趨勢，規劃為二大模組、四大趨勢。
（一）平面媒體模組：
(1) 商業平面設計
(2) 包裝與展示造形設計
(3) 文化創意產品設計
（二）動態媒體模組：
(1) 影音多媒體動畫設計
未來發展
1.奠定國際化發展的能量及優勢的競爭力。
2.建構E化學習環境，整合國內外學術國際資源，尋求跨國合作，拓展設計學術交流。
3.有效運用產業資源，建構符合系所發展與產業升級共贏的產學合作機制。
