The department of Tourism and Leisure was founded in 1965. It is the first tourist department in the country. Over the past 50 years, it has cultivated a large number of tourism graduates. The outstanding performance of the graduates in the industry is also highly recognized. Some of the key milestones are described below.

Students enrollment rate and graduate employment rate maintain good performance: With the rapid growth of enrollment, the department’s overall registration rate remains at 90%.The internship participation rate is above 98% in recent years by cooperating with a total of 170 companys.

Department provides a wide range of internship opportunities: The purpose of the internship program is to equip the graduates with practical knowledge and training for future employment. Therefore, we select diverse companies offering internship programs such as Wowprime group, Regent Taipei Hotel Group, Lion Travel Agency, and Farglory Ocean Park, etc.

We consistently pursue the cooperation with industries: Along with the effort in enhancing practical ability of our teachers, the department is committed to the cooperation between industry and academia. Faculty members are highly qualified, experienced and each of them holds professional certification. The proportion of assistant professors has increased to 70% or more.

We train students to be able to obtain higher level and practical certificates rather than pursue unneeded ones during their school years.

In compliance with the government's recent efforts to promote domestic tourism and leisure industries for economic boosting, the goal of department is to

· implement sustainable development

· import innovation management concept

· emphasize the combination of ecological environment, cultural and creative tourism

We will strengthen the tourism and leisure service skills e.g. guided tour, interpretation services and other language skills. Also, we aim to cultivate the tourism and leisure management service academically and practically.
