II. Curriculum plan
The core curriculum of the institute is set to aim on the “living application design industry” and accordingly two curriculum tracks, “cultural creative design” and “creative living space”, are integrated together. The equipment and resources of the design college of CTU will all serve to the students studies. There are two dimensions contained in our courses, they are “cultural creation design” and “green design”. In our course planning, the theory foundation are built up as well as cultivates creative ability on prospect students, who are enabled to demonstrate their potentiality both in theory and practice. To fulfill the master degree, students can choose to hold a graduation exhibition, participate international competitions or write up regular thesis. It is expected that, through the cultivation of postgraduate courses, students can obtain the fundamental knowledge and skills in creative living application design and meet the professional demand of private industries and governmental organizations.




III.Special Issues in the Development
Cultural Creation: In Taiwan, the cultural creative industries are recently developed into variant and miniaturized. It is also the main trend of the world, which were highly promoted by modern civilized countries. Following this trend, in our institute proposes four characteristic aspects included “cultural assets”, “brand design”, “cultural design”, and “living space recreation”. Meanwhile, the arrangement of the professional courses of “cultural design integration”, “three-dimensional modeling creative study”, “digital image design” and “brand design strategy” are set in the track of “cultural creative design”, and the courses of “old building re-use and vitalization” and “domestic living space design” are set in the track of “creative living space”.
Green design: In recent decade “Green” is becoming an implementation of living style. The concepts of environment preservation and energy saving are emphasizing, and the design conception moves from glamorous superficial design to highlighting design nature. Starts from the small products around domestic environment and personal living space. Both product design and living space design return to mimic the nature. Conforming to the trend demand, this institute proposes four characteristic aspects, “green products”, “green technology”, “green home”, and “green environment”. The schemes the courses of “green product design”, “brand design strategy” and “compound media material study” are built in the track of “cultural creative design”, and the courses of “domestic green environment and technology” and “landscape and environment study” are built in the track of “creative living space”
