The doctoral program aims to cultivate students to become future scientists and engineers with strong fundamentals on nanotechnology and microsystems,independent research and development capability, interdisciplinary training, and systems integration knowledge. Its scope includes nanomaterials, nano-biomedical micro, nano optoelectronic components, nano-processing and testing, research and nano-physics simulation, nanotechnology application of technology, nano-Package technology, nano-chemistry and nano energy.
本博士班培育奈米科技及微系統專業科技人才，使其具備完整學理、獨立創新與執行跨領域及系統整合研發之能力。其領域包含奈米材料、微奈米生物醫學、奈米光電元件、奈米加工與檢測、奈米物理與模擬、奈米應用科技、奈米構裝科技、奈米化學及奈米能源之研究。
