Department of Applied Mathematics, NSYSU, offers Bachelor degree program, Master degree program as well as Doctoral degree program. Our B.Sc. program provides a solid curriculum in Mathematics and Statistics. Programming skills are also emphasized. Our program includes 52 credits of required professional core courses, plus at least 5 elective courses. Among them is the very popular course: Practice and Innovations in Applied Mathematics. Furthermore, in order to lead our students deeper into the subjects and related interdisciplinary fields, our students are encouraged to join in Interdisciplinary Programs such as Financial Engineering, Software Engineering, AI and Mathematics, and Teacher Education programs.
In 2021 QS World University Rankings, our Department was ranked 200-250 in the world, and 4th in Taiwan. We are dedicated towards Teaching and Research. Our graduates have among themselves 120 Ph.D.’s. In 2021, NSYSU was selected as one of the four key cultivation schools of MOE’s Program on Bilingual Education for Students in College. So in September, 2022, we shall start a new English-taught Undergraduate Program in Applied Mathematics. You are very much welcome to join us in Siziwan.
