Features and Advantage:
- Consistency of educational programs: five-year junior college → two-year undergraduate program → graduate school
- Largest number of specialized teachers in specializations of molecular biology, cell biology, clinical examination and biostatistics which is among all departments of medical laboratory science and biotechnology in Taiwan.
- Curricular diversity: three modules, two credit programs and overseas internships.

Curriculum Design:
- English language classes: The classes are taught entirely in English by senior teachers of the department to enhance students’ ability to research English documents and use English.
- Laboratory teaching: Students learn to design technical checklists, participate in laboratory teaching and develop their teaching capacity.
- Establishment of medical laboratory research projects: Students participate in special topic research projects conducted by full-time/part-time teachers, learn to organize teaching materials, sort out documents, and write short papers to enhance their ability to do research and read and write scientific papers.
- Internships: There are internships in the country for five-year junior college students and overseas internships for two-year undergraduate students. The former focus on application of academic theory in clinical examination work to achieve the objective of doing to learn and learning by doing. The latter is intended to extend the effects of education by providing students with opportunities to observe the development of medical laboratory science in the US and to understand the American culture to broaden their frame of reference and increase their confidence.
- Basic medical laboratory techniques: Students are guided to build a solid foundation in medical laboratory science and develop their clinical skills.
Future Career:
- Medical technologist, pathology technologist, medical QC technologist, bio technician, forensic examiner, medical and health technician Biotech manufacturing, processing, research and development, examination and analysis, quality control, and quality assurance.
- Further studies graduate or PhD programs in medical laboratory science, microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, physiology, and life sciences.
