The scholarship or bursary is provided to encourage foreign students to pursue study diligently. Object: Foreign students enrolling in the University (excluding overseas Chinese students, students from Mainland China, and exchange students) and studying for a semester or more (excluding graduates and extended students) without receiving other scholarships granted by the government agencies of Taiwan (R.O.C.). Award qualification: Foreign students taking at least 6 credits in the semester prior to the enrollment in the graduate program, the student (the period of thesis composition is not subject to this limit, but may be applied once only) and taking at least 9 credits in the semester prior to the enrollment in the undergraduate program and meeting the following requirements will be granted the scholarship or bursary: 1. Scholarships: Graduate students must have a minimum average semester grade of 80. If the student’s grade does not reach the minimum due to the thesis/dissertation composition, he or she may submit a recommendation letter from his or her advisor(s) together with a study plan. This exemption may apply only once. Undergraduate students must have a minimum average semester grade to 70. Students shall not have any records of demerit (three admonitions included). 2. Financial Aid: Graduate students must have a minimum average semester grade of 70-80. If the student’s grade does not reach the minimum due to the thesis/dissertation composition, he or she may submit a recommendation letter from his or her advisor(s) together with a study plan. This exemption may apply only once. Undergraduate students must have a minimum average semester grade to 60-70. Students shall not have any records of demerit (three admonitions included).
