Originally conceived in 2003 as the International Master’s Program in Taiwan Studies and the International Master’s Program in China Studies, the International Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IMAS) was the first English-taught program of its kind in Taiwan.
During the globalization process, the Asia-Pacific region’s rapid development captured the world’s attention, and research on the region has become ever more important. In response to this general trend, the College of Social Sciences of National Chengchi University began offering English-taught courses as part of the International Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies.
IMAS specializes in an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the important aspects of the region. The program utilizes the talent of accomplished English-speaking faculty throughout the campus to achieve the program’s educational goals.
