Program Introduction
The ministry of Education approved the university's new "International Ph.D. Program in Innovative Technology of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices." Enrollment will start on the 109th academic year. Currently, the program has approved 3 applicants for enrollment.

Program Overview
There are currently two full-time professors in the Ph.D. program in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices, all of them are PhDs. The entire faculty line-up is a combination of professors from the Engineering and Environment and Resources colleges and professors from partner universities.
The professors' areas of expertise include: medical mechatronics, bioelectric photoelectric sensing, bioelectronic materials and cell biochips, bio-MEMS, biomedical optoelectronics, biochemistry, biomaterials, biomedical bone materials, medical engineering, biomedical machinery, and biomedical materials.
This program will be handled by professors who currently have a number of cooperations with the industry and other academic institutions to boost the development of forward-looking technology.

Development Goals
Professors with expertise in medical materials, health care technology, auxiliary agency design, manufacturing and injection, smart design, and other areas of research and development will determine the development direction of the international Ph.D. program. In line with the mission of creating knowledge, cultivating talent, and promoting human well-being, an academic exchange cooperation agreement with Chang Gung Hospital in Linkou was established to develop other new research and development projects related to medical equipment.

Program Features
International cooperation: The program is offered to domestic students and international students. The curriculum is taught in English in order to be in line with international standards. In addition to this, the university will provide grant subsidies to encourage students to go abroad to participate in international conferences to develop their international perspectives.
Cross-field integration: The program adapts the integration of on-campus research units-Research Center for Intelligent Medical Devices, Center for Plasma and Thin Film Technologies, Organic Electronics Research Center, teaching units-Master of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Master's program in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Master's program in the Department of Materials Engineering, Master's program in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering Master's program in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and off-campus research centers-Medical School in Chang Gung Hospital and Medical School in Fu Jen Catholic University. Biotechnology, electrical engineering, machinery, electronics, information, chemical engineering, materials, and other engineering disciplines will be integrated to support the teaching and research needs of the program.
