1   Close Staff-students Relationship

  The department is proud of its close staff-students relationship and supportive atmosphere, providing students a friendly learning environment.
     
2   Flexible but Professional Curriculum

  The department is adaptive to social trends and changes in labor market. Undergraduates will have to choose at least one of the modules: Social Work Specializing Module, Health Care and Community Work Module, and Empowerment and Judiciary System Module.
     
3   The Integration of Classroom Learning and Practicum of Community Organization and Development

  The department has dedicated to equip students with social work theories and practical abilities. It has put equal weights on the introduction of three principal social work methods: casework, group work, and community work. The department has long been involved with the developments of local communities, offering students a unique opportunity to carry out methods of community work practice.
     
4   The Emphasis on Multicultural Education

  The department has guaranteed an annual intake of ten indigenous students, who have contributed a great deal to the enhancement of the department’s multicultural learning environment. Accordingly, the department has established a strong tradition on teaching and researching social policy/social work in relation to the minorities in Taiwan.
     
5   Strong Research Capacity
  The Department of Social Work has 15 full-time academic staff specializing in a variety of subjects, including various areas in social work, community development, ethnicity and multicultural social policy/social work, social work in the judiciary system, counseling and guidance, and sociology, etc. It also has very close link/collaboration with other academic institutes domestically and internationally.
