I. Mission and Learning Objectives:
We strive to develop in students a competency both in the German language and in research and practice with regard to the field of cultural studies so that they can be adequately equipped with the professionalism needed to excel as a working professional or an academic after graduation.

II. A Diverse Course of Study
First-year graduate students would fulfill 8 credits for prescribed modules, comprised of the following four courses – Academic and Dissertation Theory, Dissertation Writing, Professional German (I), and Professional German (II). Students would also take elective modules from 5 categories, namely Cultural Studies and Cross-Cultural Communication Research, Translation, Didactics of Language Teaching, Modern Linguistics, and Literature.

III. Encouraging Interdisciplinary Studies
Graduate students may take modules at the Master’s/PhD level from other departments at the University, and apply for a credit transfer up to a maximum of 4 credits.
