-Introduction
The Department of Communication Engineering (CME) of ISU was founded in 2002 and admits 50 undergraduate students each year. Over the last ten years, CME has admitted 350 students, and more than 140 students graduated from our department. Nowadays, communication by electronic devices has become an indispensable way of living. The CME of ISU focuses on three major areas, which are wireless communications, microwave optical fiber systems and broadband networking, to achieve the diversity of communication technologies.
-Teaching and Research
The faculty of CME consists of 2 professors、2 associate professors and 3 assistant professors. Most faculty members have been devoted themselvesto research in the areas of communications and received research grants from the National Science Council and other organizations. Recently, the Department has collaborated with local companies and well-known research institutes abroad. This will be an important factor in improving the teaching capability and raising the research quality and status of the Department.
