The teaching and research of the Department of Life Sciences focus on the basic biological sciences and biotechnology. The department establishes two major research area, "Molecular and Environmental Biology" and "Molecular and Biomedical Sciences," with outstanding research published in the internationally renowned journals. Our mission is to educate students and young scientists to be independent in learning new knowledge. In addiction to required lectures (General Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Physiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology Ecology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry), there are many elective and lab courses to cover the other areas in life sciences and biotechnology(agricultural, environmental and medical areas).
