The meeting, incentive travels, convention, exhibition and event (MICE) industry - a service industry combining trade, tourism, lodging, logistics, design, F&B, and cultural innovation etc. The development of MICE industry will promote urban promotion and economic development in the government sector as well as providing a platform of business transaction and professional information sharing in the enterprise sector. The department was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2018 by merging the Department of International Business and Trade with MICE and International Marketing Degree Program. The department has been cooperating with the Bureau of foreign trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs to promote the MICE talent development program in the MICE industry development projects since 2009. The department recruits four-year program students of full-time day-time and night-time as well as on-the-job master program students. The department is aimed at training students to plan MICE events of integrating tourism and marketing resources, and become a MICE marketing expert and event project manager. The teachers and students have participated a lot major large-scaled MICE events over the years including 2009 Kaohsiung World Games, 2009~2014 Destination Marketing Competition, The Joint Opening Ceremony of Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC) and International Fastener Show in 2014, The Taiwan International Boat Show and Global Harbor City Forum in 2016 and 2018 etc. The department curriculum provides the most complete MICE professional course design, and not only meet the requirements for the MICE industry but also enhances students’ career competency.

會議展覽產業,又稱會展產業,英文簡稱MICE Industry,涵蓋會議(Meeting)、獎勵旅遊(Incentive)、大型會議(Convention)及展覽與活動(Exhibition & Event)等領域。在政府層面,藉由舉辦會展活動可以帶動周圍的產業如觀光、行銷、貿易、物流、設計、餐飲、住宿、文化創意等等,進而促進城市行銷及經濟發展;在企業部分,藉由會展活動平台完成商務交易及專業資訊分享。本系於2018年奉教育部核准,由原國際企業與貿易系及會議展覽與國際行銷學位學程整併為「會展行銷與活動管理系」。配合經濟部國貿局自2009年起推動三期四年期會展產業發展計畫中的的會展人才培育子計畫,培養同學規劃會展活動整合觀光與行銷資源,成為會展行銷專才與活動企畫執行的專案經理人,本系招收四年制日間部與進修部,以及碩士在職專班學生。本系師生歷年參與之大型會展活動包括:2009高雄世運會,2009~2014國際院校城市行銷競賽,2010~2018高雄國際食品展,2015~2017國貿會展論壇暨兩岸校際模擬商展競賽,2014高雄展覽館(KEC)暨臺灣國際扣件展聯合開幕典禮及展覽,2014、2016台灣國際遊艇展、2017世界台灣商會聯合總會年會,2016、2018全球港灣城市論壇等,是國內最完整會展專業知識課程設計,充分培養同學擁有跨域整合資源的技術與能力以及就業競爭力的系所。
