The curriculum design places equal emphasis on theoretical, technical, and practical aspects of fashion design. Special focus is on the exploration of the processes and methodologies involved in professional design. Important course features are as follows:
Fundamental and advanced theories of design
Arts and relevant subjects
Composition design and planning theory of specialized subjects
Skill training and actual practice of specialized subjects
Computer-aided design system application training
Artistry modelling and relevant subjects
Designers’ workshops and relevant subjects
Cultivation of international-level designers and relevant subjects
Graphic communication design and professional planning capability training
International exchange and trainings programs
In addition to the above course contents, the department also offers diverse curriculum modules to respond to the professional demand of the industry. The equipments in the specialized labs and the computer-aided design system applications are utilized to equip students with a global vision and in enhancing their professional development competence. 流行設計系日間部 課程
流行設計系教育目標
流行設計系依據「務實致用」之技職教育目標，配合產業發展與專業發展趨勢，在校院辦學的願景、使命、定位與目標的引導下，藉由學者專家的建議與產業發展需求下，訂定三點教育目標：
1、培育具流行設計產業需求能力之優質整體造型設計師。
2、培育具流行設計創新研發與應用發展的專業工作者。
3、培育具國際化視野能「立足台灣、放眼國際」的流行設計工作者。
流行設計系設有「課程委員會」，每年均會針對在學學生與企業進行訪談，並因應時代改變提出改進方案。本系並參酌「系諮詢委員」意見，對本系課程做出具體課程改進之決議，以期使本系之課程能符合學生、企業與時代所需。

流行設計系系自九十八學年度起，增設四技日間部畢業門檻指標。101學年度起之畢業同學，須符合以下一項或一項以上指標之要求，始可畢業。

1. 取得專業應用流行產業相關之技能檢定乙級以上證照或證書，如下*。
2. 取得本系辦理之校園設計師認證證書。
3. 參與發表研討會等級以上論文一篇。
4. 參加全國性以上競賽並獲得佳作以上或入選決賽。
5. 參加區域性競賽(含校內比賽)並獲得前三名以上。
6. 參與產學計畫或研究計畫並擔任研究助理一案以上。
7. 參與校內外商品開發活動之作品或設計稿入選或向專利局提出新式樣、新型或發明專利申請一篇。
8. 曾獲得書卷獎乙次以上。
9. 大二、大三專業主修成績達10%以上(分組計算，四捨五入)。
10. 大四專題製作之總審名次達30%以內，依動態組、靜態組及論文組分別計算。
