The Department of Tourism Management was established in 1997. It prepares students to take qualification exams, acquire professional certificates (i.e., tour guide), use information technology. It also offers internship opportunities (e.g., in Taiwan, Kinmen, China) and improves university facilities such as computers, reading materials, digital equipment, and professional classrooms. Additionally, the department actively (1) applies for public and private sector grants to further tourism research, (2) enhances communication across the Taiwan Strait (Taiwan, Kinmen, and China), (3) seeks cooperation between public, private, and academic sectors and (4) invites world renowned scholars to share their knowledge.
