History
The Department of Computer Science and Entertainment Technology was established in August, 2003.

Educational Goals
We aim to train students with the professional skills of computer, network, mobile communications, robotics and entertainment technology. We hope to develop the biggest center of smart-living technology in Southern Taiwan.
Faculty Members
There are 8 full-time faculties in the Department. 7 of them have doctoral degrees and one of them contains master’s degree. Their various research expertise includes applications on smart phones, wireless network, software design, multimedia embedded system, database management system, object- oriented programming, AI, Matlab application, Knowledge Based Systems.

Teaching Traits
The Department recently received the Award of Excellent Experimental Curriculum and more than 3 million funding for Internet of Things courses from the Ministry of Education. Our students also had great performances in nationwide and worldwide competitions. For example, they won two gold, six silver, and 1 copper medals in the International Invention Fair of 2014.

Facilities
As robotic industries have received more attention, the Department funded and established a distinctive Robot Practice Laboratory to provide more experimental and practical opportunities for our students. Besides, there are several different labs such as Linux and Embedded System Lab, Intelligent Mobile-phone Software Development Lab, Computer Repairing Center, IOTC Platform Lab, Microprocessor and Electronics Lab, Bioinformatics and Mobile Application in Life Project Workroom.

Career Prospects
The field of computer science offers a wide variety of occupational opportunities. Graduates can expect to work as IT specialist, software engineer, MIS engineer, system engineer, firmware engineer, system analyst, computer gaming programmer, website programmer, network engineer etc. In addition, pursuing graduate degrees at domestic or overseas institution is a good prospect as well.
