Anthropology considers the full range of human socio-cultural, linguistic, and biological aspects, extending from prehistorical time to the present. The major strengths of the Institute are: (1) a balanced four-field curriculum; (2) intensive training program of anthropological field work and (3) unique ethnographic contributions to the area studies of Taiwan, China as well as Southeast Asia.
