Research Features:
The research interest of our faculty focuses mainly in the following: algebra, number theory, differential geometry and analysis, differential equations, applied mathematics, and statistical sciences. The faculty members have produced high quality research work, in particular, many faculty members have received awards from the National Science Council. Over the years, in addition to the regular weekly colloquium, the Department has also organized conferences and workshops in various research fields to enhance the academic knowledge of the faculty and students.


Educational Objectives
The Department emphasizes on both the fundamental mathematical theory and practical applications. To realize this vision, the following are set as the department's educational objectives:
1. Emphasize on mathematical and logical deductive reasoning, and development of the analytical ability;
2. Encourage students to apply mathematical ability to work in other fields;
3. Emphasize on fundamental research, and promote interdisciplinary integration and academic exchange;
4. Emphasize on personality education, and execute coaching/counseling mechanism.
