1. Substantial learning resources
The School is equipped with specialized classrooms such as the Demolab for Nutriology, Teaching Center for Basic Clinical Skills, Self-learning Computer Center and Demolab for Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing. Students could also use state-of-the-art facilities and receive clinical training at KMU Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Kaohsiung Municipal Hsiao-Kang Hospital and Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital and Kaohsiung Municipal Ci-Jin Hospital.
2. Diverse teaching methods
Our teachers apply Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Concept Mapping and Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) in classroom teaching, and create a quality interactive learning environment that fosters teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and self-learning ability.
3. Thorough combination of theory and clinical practice
Our teachers not do only teach in the classroom, but also serve as instructors of clinical practice to achieve the goal of emphasizing both theory and practice and to align clinical practice with our curriculum.
4. Joint appointments in industry and academia
Several registered nurses with master's degree at KMU Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital are appointed as teachers of the School while some of our teachers are appointed as nursing supervisors at the Hospital, which promotes industry-academy cooperation plan and the combination of theory and practice.
5. Curriculum meets societal needs
The School offers professional courses to foster comprehensive students’ competence. Besides, the curriculum includes Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nursing (approved by the Taiwan Traditional Chinese Medicine Nurses Association) and Long-Term Care in Aging course, which meets societal needs.
6. Enhance students’ preparation for employment
The School offers an elective course, Comprehensive Clinical Nursing Practice (III), which provides an opportunity for students to complete a comprehensive clinical practice before graduation and to enhance their competitiveness. The School also offers after-school tutorial sessions and an online test question pool to assist students in preparing for the national examination.
