Development Focuses

The education goals of the Department of Bioscience and
Biotechnology are training "LEADERs" in the field of life sciences. The
core of "LEADERs" program is Learning, with the characteristics of
Efficient, Active, Devoting, Employable, and Recreating.
• 1.Strong fundamental knowledge We paid much attention to the teaching of fundamental knowledge by offering the various course of life sciences with both broaden and deepen vision.
• 2.Training professional research ability The Department requires its students to engage in research actively by conducting independent research projects at the laboratory of their choice.
• 3.Fostering the independent thinking ability Besides the implement of the research projects, the students are required to engage in seminars to enhance their public speaking ability and critical thinking skills.
• 4.Cultivating creativity and innovation The development of biotechnology industry depends on the creativity and innovation. We encourage students participate through structured exercises and discuss during the class.
• 5.Improving the expression ability Many courses request students to have the oral presentations and reports, which could train the students to express themselves and organization ability.
• 6.Preparing to face the world The English language is the second most widely spoken tongue in the world today. Our students have enough English language ability and background knowledge to face the world.
