Features and Advantage:
 Physical therapy for the elderly:
(1) Train physical therapy professionals who specialize in eldercare.
(2) The center in southern Taiwan for the cultivation of professionals specializing in physical therapy for the elderly.
 Movement analysis:
(1) The department’s movement analysis laboratory has a comprehensive assortment of movement analysis precision instruments and equipment.
(2) The instruments and equipment can label the joints of the limbs and use infrared cameras to record the movement track, used for calculation and analysis to produce a kinematic analysis record.
 Assistive device design:
(1) Offers an assistive aid practical course to allow students to understand the function of various assistive aids.
(2) This knowledge, in combination with concepts in physical therapy for the elderly, can encourage students and teachers to develop new assistive aids.
Curriculum Design:
 Four-year program emphasizes basic and professional skills. Two-year emphasizes improvements in advanced professional abilities and cultivation of beginning research abilities.
 Basic skills include language, information, and health, and thinking and mathematical abilities; professional skills include basic medicine, clinical medicine, basic physical therapy, and clinical physical therapy internships.
 Elective courses in five major fields include the enhancement of basic skills, enhancement of manual therapy skills, early childhood therapy, sports health promotion, and elderly medical care.
 Four-year bachelor program includes a 36-week hospital clinical physical therapy internship and two-year includes a six-week clinical physical therapy internship and a two-week special internship.
