The Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering (GIEOE) , established in August 2006. offers a master program which requires 24 credits of course work and the completion of a Master’s thesis. The electro-optical engineering training of NTUST is multi-disciplinary, involving electronic, mechanical, polymer and electrical engineering, and emphasizes on theoretical as well as experimental aspects of the field.
Research at GIEOE focuses on the evolution and applications of the rapidly expanding field of photonics, opto-electronics, and information display technology which are used in a broad range of scientific, medical and engineering disciplines. The GIEOE offers three major directions, i.e. image display and lighting, optical communication, and optoelectronic semiconductor and optoelectronic integrated circuits.
