The Institute of Statistics offers a PhD program and a wide selection of M.S. programs including industrial statistics, biostatistics, and data science. The aim of the institute is to train our students have a strong ability to design experiments, collect and analyze data, and apply statistical techniques to solve problems in a variety of scientific fields, such as biology, medical science, public health, finance and industry. Major research areas in the institute include biodiversity, bioinformatics, ecological statistics, experimental design, high-dimensional data analysis, large sample theory, model selection, quality control, reliability, statistical modeling, survival analysis and time series.
