Established in 1993, the department began to recruit undergraduate students and later for MS and Ph.D. programs. Currently, there are 16 full-time teachers supported by a full-time teaching assistant, administrative clerk, and technician. With more than 2,000 square meters of space equipped with primary teaching and advanced equipment, the main focuses are Advanced Materials and Precision Chemical Processing, Biomedical and Biochemical Engineering, Polymer Science and Nanotechnology.
