The Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology was established in 1989. The master and Ph.D. programs were established in 2001 and 2002, respectively. The curriculum was designed to meet the fast moving science technology and to train students to be multi-disciplined in the field of medical technology and biotechnology. The department not only retains the traditional medical technology but also integrates different fields of modern biotechnology.
The curriculum of graduate program is designed to improve the knowledge of life science, the logical thinking ability and the experiment procedures. Courses including advanced biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, hematology, biotechnology and seminars were designed to educate students in research and development of biotechnology and laboratory management. The graduate program is designed to prepare students with abilities to conduct independent biomedical research and laboratory management.
