The Institute of Communications Engineering (ICE) is a graduate-student only institute focusing on preparing future communication engineers for challenges ranging from wireless communication systems, sensing networks, transceiver and IC designs to RF systems and antenna designs. The master program and Ph.D. program of ICE were founded in 2001 and 2008, respectively. The institute currently has 8 full-time faculty members, including 5 full professors, 3 associate professors, and 10 adjunct faculty members bringing state-of-the-art research, development and design experience into the classroom.

Educational Goals
1. Academic knowledge : fostering students’ communication technology related theories and knowledge through fundamental and state-of-the-art courses
2. Professional skills: cultivating students’ communication engineering practicing skills and disposition through Special topic programs, collaboration in research projects, and thesis composition.
3. Teamwork spirit: guiding students to appreciate the importance of teamwork and ethics through seminars, discussions with supervisor, and leadership building.
4. Independent thinking and innovation: fully realizing students’ potential, nurturing their independent and creative thinking ability through advanced courses and Special topic programs.
5. International mobility: widening students’ global vision and advancing the Institute’s
internationalization effort through exchange student program, visiting scholar program, academic affairs, and English-spoken courses.
