Introduction
The mission of the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering is to provide a quality education, to conduct distinctive research programs, to maintain a close partnership with industry, and to provide related service to the community. Recent development of the department focuses on the fields of mechatronics, automation technology, precision engineering, and nano/micro system by integrating electronic, information, computer, electrical, photonic and control technologies.

Currently, the department has 26 full-time faculty members who hold PhD degrees in mechanical engineering and mechatronics related programs. Inter-department programs were developed to educate students to be more competitive in the ever-changing society which currently include nano/micro technology, mechatronics and control , and E-commerce programs.
