About NFU
At present, National Formosa University (NFU) is organized into 4 colleges and 19 departments, 18 of which have graduate programs and 2 PhD programs. The main technological fields of Graduate institutes such as Aviation & Electronic Technology, Innovation Engineering and Precision Technology, Automation Engineering, Biotechnology and Information Engineering allow the University to links between its key curriculums and Taiwanese industry, such as precision machine design, electro-mechanical integration, aeronautical engineering, new energy resource exploitation, biotechnology information systems, biochips and broadband signal transmission. In order to meet the global demand for professional skills, several new departments in specialist fields have also been set up, including Biotechnology, Business Administration, Information Management, Finance, Applied Foreign Languages, Multimedia Design, and Leisure & Recreation.

Development
Formerly known as National Yunlin Institute of Technology, the university was established in 1980. NFU has educated many gifted and excellent students based on open-ended educational principles and outstanding educational values. We are committed to create an academic-industry cooperation environment and to develop new industrial techniques. Our commitment is supported by intensive language learning programs and international academic exchange opportunities. NFU has continue ously develop the e-Campus and e-Learning computer network. By an extensive variety of academic activities and art & cultural events, we aim to foster a deeper sense of humanity in our students. Moreover, nowadays NFU is also a cultural center within the local community, and extend to a number of collaborative programs with the international community.
