Nan Jeon University of Science and Technology (NJU) was co-founded by Mr. Shen Jung, Mr. Shen, Nai-lin, Mr. Shen, Shui-de, Mr. Li, Bing-nan, Mr. Chen, Hsing-chang, and local gentry in Yanshui District, Tainan City, and Mr. Shen Jung was elected as the founder. At the time of establishing the school, Taiwan was transforming from an agricultural society into an industrial society. In order to educate more expert technical professionals, and follow national economic development, the title of the school was named Nan Jeon Junior College of Technology. The school motto was proficient research to practical applications. The preparatory work for setting up the school started in early May, 1966. In July 14th, 1966, the preliminary work for setting up the school was granted by Ministry of Education. On June 30th, 1967, the registration of the school was approved, and enrollment initiated.

The school motto, proficient research to practical applications, has been the core spirit. NJU has been more than forty years to develop and educate the basic expert person in Taiwan. Over years, the alumni of the school have been actively participated in industry, commence, or academic institutes at home and abroad, which their performance has been highly praised and won a lot of reputation.

Under the wisely guidance of educational policy directed by government, the highly support of industry and commence, and the diligent effort of staff members, NJU has been kept growing gradually. In the near future, following our high-quality traditions, NJU is devoted to establish vigor, information, brand-new NJU as goals, and move towards the educational idea of students’ first, holistic education, and university with first class.
