The study aims to investigate the capacity expansion decision in the semiconductor industry under the influence of the network marketing. Since there are the increasing semiconductor manufacturers providing online sales information with customized services, such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), the impact of efficient network marketing information on the capacity expansion decision seems absorbing in the context of internet’s rapid development. The empirical data of semiconductor firms in Taiwan are used to estimate the interactive mechanism of capacity expansion and network marketing, including the capacity expansion quantities, financial attributes and the information of online marketing strategy of Taiwan semiconductor companies. The data regarding capacity expansion and financial attributes can be obtained from database in National Taiwan University, and the information of firm’s network marketing strategy is acquired to be collected from the fieldwork by interviewing different types of firms in the Taiwan semiconductor industry.
