This program is designed for young people/researchers who are interested (or specialized) in topics related to South and Southeast Asia to visit Department and Research Centre of Southeast Asian Studies at National Chi Nan University (NCNU), Taiwan. Those who have had a PhD degree is not qualified to the application.
The applicants who are accepted will participate in our courses and co-organize activities (such as study groups, workshops and short-term fieldwork), focusing on topics of international migration, migrant workers, social change, urban development, agriculture and environment, with Department students and faculty. The aim of this program is to provide a platform, through which young people and researchers can meet up to discuss their interests and build up co-operation relationships (academically, culturally and socially) for future.
The Department of Southeast Asian Studies at NCNU has been one of the leading institutions in Southeast Asian research and teaching. It provides students with courses related to Southeast/South Asian studies from multiple discipline approaches (including anthropology, sociology and politics). We hope this TEEP program will give both applicants and our students more chances to think and learn together.
