「TEEP@AsiaPlus」ISU: 2D Materials, Epitaxial Growth, Functional Oxides

To expand our scientific research collaboration with the outstanding researchers in India, this proposal will invite a team member (or a research student) from Dr. E. Senthil Kumar, who is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India, to carry out a three-month short-term study-based internship in Department of Materials Science and Engineering, I-Shou University (ISUMSE), Taiwan. Recently, we intend to start the collaborations with Dr. E. Senthil Kumar on the project topic of ZnO/MoS2-based heterostructure. This project intends to develop a low temperature, low-cost, and environmentally-friendly processes to implement van der Waals epitaxy of ZnO nanorod arrays on 2D layered materials. Through this project, the project partner from India can help us to cultivate knowledge and skills in issues of solution phase van der Waals epitaxy of ZnO nanorod arrays and materials analytical techniques. In addition to gain professional knowledge and skills, the international project partner from India could learn the Mandarin and cooperation with our research team in ISUMSE. The ISUMSE faculty and staff members will also help them adapt to life in Taiwan and facilitate cultural exchange.
