This project would like to have students who are interested in working on projects related to civil engineering and hydraulic engineering with outstanding international students at National Taiwan University. The technical background of principal investigator mainly includes applied and fundamental aspects of research and consulting in water resources and environmental river hydraulics. The main interests of this project, therefore, would conduct multidisciplinary scientific methods with the innovative image-based and acoustic-based techniques for integrated measurements in applied river hydraulics. Among the activities conducted in the applied river engineering, the students can learn the knowledge of data analysis, programming, sediment-flow interaction, uncertainty analysis, flood monitoring, and flood managements. As for the fundamental research, there are a variety of field and laboratory investigations covering both micro-scale (turbulence, particle-fluid interaction) as well as macro-scale river hydraulic processes (sediment transport, flows in confluences, reservoirs, sediment-control and flow-conditioning structures) which could be the other topics for this project.
