National Taipei University of Technology (TAIPEI TECH) was established in 1912. As a pioneering academic institute dedicated to industrial education and with over a century of long-standing history and experience in education, Taipei Tech has nurtured numerous technical professionals. Since 1912, over 90,000 students have graduated from Taipei Tech. At home and abroad, they have demonstrated outstanding achievements in professional fields as well as academic arenas.

Now, as internationalization is a key strategy of Taipei Tech, the university has established 6 English taught programs especially for international students. The principal objective of these degree programs is to prepare students by acquiring the knowledge and developing the skills necessary for career advancement in a global context.


Taipei Tech is located at the center of the Taipei Tech Metro System and offers a cosmopolitan lifestyle. Students of Taipei Tech not only enjoy a world-class education, but also have easy access to famous landmarks such as Taipei 101, the Palace Museum, and the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall.

Currently Taipei Tech has approximately 10,000 students, including about 500 international students from 50 countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Malaysia, etc. from Asia; the Gambia, Swaziland, Sao Tome and Principe, Burkina Faso, etc. from Africa; Panama, Honduras, Ecuador, Paraguay, Haiti, etc. from the Americas, and Lithuania, Poland, Macedonia, and Portugal from Europe.

Taipei Tech provides a friendly learning environment for a growing number of international students. Students are encouraged to share their different cultural experiences with each other in and outside the classroom.

Taipei Tech values students' experience and invites international students to experience special holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Moon Festival, and Lunar New Year in Taiwan. The biggest event is the International Festival, which is an occasion for international students to share their home cultures with domestic students in Taiwan.

1. Dormitory Information

Application Method:International students have priority to live in the dormitory, just simply reply the letter of 「Notification of Acceptance」which we will have accommodation confirmation attached with the letter. This notification will mail out with the offer letter sometimes during May.

• Dormitory Fees:Basically it is about NT$9,900(US$330) per semester. The fees for staying during summer/winter vacation will be varied according to the length of the period. Detailed regulations and fees please refer to Office of Student Affairs.

2. Dormitory Facilities

• There are dormitory restaurant, sports field, volleyball court, netball court, basketball court, skating rink and car park next to the dormitory and also a New Kitchen just for the International Students.

• This dormitory can accommodate 1,572 students.

• Room Bed Size - About 192*95cm: Equipped with basic furniture like desk lamp, desk, chair and wardrobe. Each room has air conditioner (Need to buy the air conditioner card for using the air conditioner - NT$500(US$16) per card)

  The Office of International Affairs at National Taipei University of Technology was established on August 1, 2010, to enhance the internationalization of the university through the recruitment of more foreign students and the promotion of more exchange and collaboration with foreign partners. Integrating the International Student Section from the Office of Academic Affairs and the International Cooperation Section from the Research and Development Office, OIA strives to better serve the growing needs of Taipei Tech as it pursues the goals of internationalization.

  The OIA staff believe that “internationalization” means more than the number of foreign students or collaborative projects. We consider it our mandate to create a learning and research environment with a global vision. The expansion of internationalized education, research and collaboration and their higher visibility on the campus are our present objectives as OIA assists our faculty and students in their quest for internationalization and excellence.

Chinese Language Training Center aims to nurture and offer a complete and professional Chinese language course to foreign students, and be able to apply Chinese in daily conversation. In addition, to be open-minded and be globalized in order to inherence Chinese culture and promote international cooperation and culture exchange.
This center is established for not only helping people from different cultural and linguistic background learn Chinese language, but also making them fall in love with Chinese and the beauty of Taiwan.
