Founded in April, 1940, National Hsinchu University of Education was originally an institute for training teachers of elementary, pre-school and special education in the past. To meet the current trend and prospective development of education, the University was transformed and renamed as it is now in August, 2005. There are three colleages in the institution including College of Education, College of Liberal Art and College of Science which provide 13 undergraduate programs and 16 graduate programs, where you can explore academic disciplines as you like.

Campus

Hsinchu is a safe and friendly city with a warm climate and abundant cultural features. Located in the center of Hsinchu City, just 10 minutes from the Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park, NHCUE is one of the best choices for studying in Northern Taiwan. The campus comprises 3 colleges, 12 departments, with more than 3,300 students. To provide a good learning and research environment to the faculty and students, there are sevral new buildings established in the past years including Hall II of Music Department, Hall of Physical & Health and Hall of Teaching.

Dormitory

There are six in-campus dormitories that can totally accomodate 1,517 students. Rooms vary in shape and size and all are furnished. Each dorm is provided with lounges for entertainment and studying. All of the rooms are equipped with internet access, telephone and air-conditioner. For students' convenience, laundry rooms are equipped with paying washer and dryers. To ensure the students’ safety, the access into each dorm is controlled 24 hours a day with swipe card readers and under surveillance all day.
