Jinwen University of Science and Technology (JUST) was originally established and named as Jin-Wen College in 1980. It was subsequently upgraded into Jin-Wen Institute of Technology in 1998, as the first Institute of Technology for higher education in the Taipei region. In August of 2002, fifteen experts and professionals in various fields were selected and appointed by the Ministry of Education and formed a non-profit Board of Trustees chaired by the attorney-at-law Ms. Ching-Feng Wang. Furthermore, Dr. Wen-Shion Chang, the former founding president of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology was selected and appointed to be the chairman of the Board of Trustees from August, 2005 until now. In August of 2006, Dr. Yung-Fu Cheng, the former vice-president of National Taipei University of Technology as well as a reputable scholar in technological universities and colleges was invited by the Board of Trustees to be the incumbent president. And it was renamed into Jinwen University of Science & Technology in February of 2007.

Currently, there are 15 departments and 4 graduate programs within 4 colleges at JUST:

1. College of Hospitality & Tourism Management

2. College of Business Management

Department of Accounting, Department of International Trade, Department of Business Administration, Department of Information Management, Department of Financial and Tax Planning, Department of Marketing and Logistics Management

3. College of Humanities and Design

Department of Applied Foreign Languages, Department of Visual Communication Design, Graduate Program of Digital, Cultural and Creative Design

4. College of Electrical, Information & Resources Engineering

Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Computer Science & Information Engineering, Graduate Program of Computer & Communication Engineering, Graduate Program of Environment & Property Management for Professionals


Excellent Campus Facilities & International Safety Certification: The campus of JUST has modern and excellent facilities and has been certified as a safe school by the International Safe Schools (ISS) of the World Health Organization (WHO). JUST lies on a spacious and scenic campus with 116,191 square meters and 83,387 square meter dormitory. To provide all faculty and students with a safe learning environment, JUST applied for the certification of a safe school and was certified as an international safe school by WHO, United Nations, in May 2010 and July 2014.

Getting Here

By Bus:

Take buses that are bound for Ankang district and get off at Ankang police substation. Take the overpass and walk about five minutes to Jinwen University’s shuttle bus stop on AnZhong road. (The stop is across from Ankeng elementary school). Jinwen University is about 3 minute’s ride uphill

By Car:

Get off the National Highway Number3 at AnKeng interchange. Turn right toward the direction of AnKang district. Then make a left turn at AnKang police substation to AnZhong road. Jinwen University is about 3 minute’s ride uphill in AnZhong road.

Academic Information

Office of International Affairs

The International Exchange and Cooperation Division of the Office of Research and Development serves as a liaison between JUST and overseas educational and research institutes. The division's primary mission is to push for international academic cooperation and organize exchange activities with overseas schools. To achieve this goal, the International Exchange and Cooperation Division not only maintains close relationships with existing sister schools and participates in overseas educational fairs on a regular basis, but also seeks to expand its overseas partnership, and establish essential academic and cultural exchange channels. The division has helped JUST form sister school relationships with universities from Europe, America, New Zealand, and Japan.
The division organizes annual overseas internship activities for students from the College of Hospitality & Tourism and short-term study tours to sister schools, to encourage JUST students to expand their international perspective. In addition, the division selects top students from JUST each year to study abroad under dual degree programs, allowing students to graduate with two diplomas. It also provides scholarships for students doing overseas study or internship. In the meantime, the division promotes Chinese culture and attracts foreign students to JUST through hosting Chinese culinary art and culture workshops. It also aims to improve mutual exchanges between JUST and overseas university and increases the international visibility of JUST. Additionally, the division entertains foreign guests, handles applications of international cooperation projects, and provides consultancy services for students with intent to study abroad.
