Founded in 1967 by Dr Yui-Lin Wang, the university aims at cultivating technical professionals with a balance between the humanitarian spirit and technological expertise.

The university has six colleges in the area of Medicine and Nursing, Humanities and Social Sciences, Human Ecology, Management, Engineering, and General Education. As of Sep 2011, the school offers 18 college programs, 8 graduate programs, with a total of 13,107 students enrolled, and has 294 faculty members, most of whom holding PhD or Master's degrees. In this coming academic year of 2011, the Ministry of Education's "Program for Promoting Teaching Excellence of Universities" awarded us the 2nd most amount of funding and placed our teaching programs at 3rd best among all technical colleges in Taiwan. This is our 5th straight year in receiving the prestigious recognition.

There are more than sixty student organizations established to serve the various interests of the students. Qualified teachers lead these organizations with the goal of attaining a healthy lifestyle and some basic life skills for the students. The school is equipped with a 400 meter track and field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a table tennis room, a billiard room, a dancing room, a weight training room, and a martial arts court. A variety of sporting contests are held periodically.

Campus

The university is situated on a slight hill on the Dadu Mountain facing the ocean. Despite our modest size, our campus is dotted with blossoming flowers on the Cherry Boulevard in the spring, various resting areas with garden views, decoration arts, and an elegant art center among other features. The atmosphere is excellent for studying and researching.
