Origins of Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science (CNU)
Starting life with just 300 students as Chia Nan Junior College of Pharmacy, CNU was founded in 1966 by Mr. Chen Wang. We quickly achieved an excellent reputation for training pharmacists, and as we expanded into the fields of health promotion and management, our student population continued to grow, enabling us to develop into one of the three biggest institutions of technology in Taiwan. In 1996, we were upgraded by the Ministry of Education to become Chia Nan College of Pharmacy and Science, and in 2000 were formally accredited with full university status, becoming Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science. CNU is now a leading educator of professionals in the fields of pharmacy, health care and science, with approximately 17,000 students. More than 100,000 students have graduated from our programs, and are currently making their mark in a wide range of professions. Our alumni are highly sought by industry, and are well known for their contribution to society.
CNU has a very beautiful campus with a library and a few teaching buildings. CNU campus also has food court and convenience stores where student can easily take care of their daily meals and daily necessaries.
CNU has a dormitory area that consists of the dormitory office and a few dormitory buildings. The dormitory is divided into 2 types: 2-bed rooms and 4-bed rooms.
From Kaohsiung City: Take Kaohsiung Bus Company Route No 8046 from Kaohsiung Railway Station to CNU.
From Tainan City: Take Tainan City Bus Red Line No. 3 from Tainan Railway Station to CNU.
Via Provincial Highway No. 1
From Tainan Railway Station, head south along Beimen Road. CNU is located on the left, about 20 minutes down this road.
From Kaohsiung, head north along Minzu Road. CNU is located on the right, about 50 minutes down this road.
Via National Highway No. 1 (Zhong Shan Highway)
Exit at Expressway No. 86 (marked Tainan, Guanmiao), and head west, towards Tainan. After about five minutes, take the exit marked “Tainan, Hunei, Luzhu”. After exiting the expressway, turn left on to Provincial Highway No. 1. CNU is about five minutes down this road, on the left.
Via National Highway No. 3
Exit at Expressway No. 86 (marked Tainan, Guanmiao), and head west, towards Tainan. After about 10 minutes, take the exit marked “Tainan, Hunei, Luzhu”. After exiting the expressway, turn left on to Provincial Highway No. 1. CNU is about five minutes down this road, on the left.
