Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science has been a leader in defining the work of professionals in the fields of pharmacy and health. We have the largest number of graduates in the field of pharmacy. Chia Nan University was first founded as Chia Nan Junior College of Pharmacy by Mr. Chen Wang. In 1966, Chia Nan was one of the only two junior colleges that offer programs in training pharmacists. Thus, Chia Nan Junior College highly shapes the nature of pharmacy. Understanding the interrelationship between pharmacy and health, Chia Nan Junior College expands its offerings to include areas in health prevention and management. Under the leadership of Dr. Chao Hsiung Wang, new departments were established such as Applied Chemistry and Industrial Safety and Hygiene. In 1996, Chia Nan Junior College was renamed as Chia Nan College of Pharmacy and Science. Then again in 2000, Chia Nan College was renamed as Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science. Chia Nan University continues to commit in defining the work of professionals in the fields of pharmacy and health. Every year new departments are added to the University. Currently, Chia Nan University has 28 departments in six colleges, including: Pharmacy and Science, Human Ecology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Information, Sustainable Environment, and Leisure and Recreation Management. There are approximately 17,000 students enrolled and over 510 full-time faculty members in the University. The quality of our faculty members are at the top among private technological colleges and universities in Taiwan.
